I just want to say congratulations to Italy for their World Cup win. Even though I wasn’t cheering for you, you won it fair and square. As I expected, downtown Toronto was chaotic! Fortunately, I heard of no major incidents. For that, I’m thankful.
The good news is we won’t have to hear about that 1982 team anymore. The bad news is, if they don’t win for the next 20 years, we’ll be constantly reminded of the 2006 team.
Yes, that’s right, in every Italian café, restaurant, pool hall, bakery, grocery store, barber shop, etc… in Toronto, faded posters of that 1982 championship team are being taken down and replaced with new, vivid, glossy images of the 2006 Italian squad.
I’m not going to harp on this too much, but I would just like to offer a tip to France’s Zidane…If you find you’re getting bored during your retirement, there is always the option of American Football. Might I suggest trying out for the Rams?
BTW, one last thing…I haven’t done this in awhile….for head-butting a player during the most important game of your career—who does that?—for possibly costing your team the World Cup…SHAME ON YOU!

What are you thinking?
