This just goes to show you how fucked up cartoons were when I was a kid…
I’m still reeling from when I found out what Scoobie Snacks ACTUALLY were. It explained a lot about that show…like why Scoobie and Shaggy were always so hungry. THEY HAD THE MUNCHIES!
That kind of thing would never be allowed to happen today.
Is it just me, or are cartoons today missing that little nod to the socially unacceptable that was so prevalent in the past? I mean, what kind of realizations do today’s kids have to look forward to when they get old enough to understand?
Is Blue (from Blue’s Clues) a neglected puppy? Is SpongeBob Gay? Was Dora a crack baby? Is Max (from Max & Ruby) a future serial killer? Probably not, but wouldn’t it be a much better lesson to our youth if they were?
