These days there is a day for every cause and/or occasion!
Today in Canada it’s the National Day For Truth & Reconciliation and I’m wearing my orange t-shirt in commemoration (not in this picture).
It’s a day when we reflect upon the experiences and history of First Nations in our country. Today radio stations across the country dedicate a day of programming to amplifying indigenous voices. Between songs, they play their stories.
A solemn and important day to be sure.
But it’s also:
- International Thunderbirds Day (That’s right, the classic British puppet show)
- International Rabbit Day
- International Translation Day
- National Pet Tricks Day
- International Lace Day
- National Ghost Hunting Day
- National Extra Virgin Olive Oil Day (WTF?)
- National Hot Mulled Cider Day (I swear I’m not making this up!)
- Rumi Day (13th Century Persian poet)
- Save Your Photos Day (Not a bad idea to do this on the regular)
- National Mud Pack Day (I just don’t…)
- National Chewing Gum Day (Wait! There’s more!)
- National Love People Day (Now you’re just throwing words together.)
- National Inclusion Week
- World Meat Free Week (I don’t observe)
There are also 20+ observances for the month of September that I won’t go into listing.
Then we get to the original intent of this post…today is International Podcast Day!
Huzzah!
I was recently interviewed for International Podcast Day.
