Last night we did something we hadn’t done in over 4 years. We played a public show! Not just a show, a show in Toronto!
The last publicly accessible show we played was at Donaleigh’s Irish Public House in Barrie, Ontario back in February of 2020. We used to play there monthly. It was our favourite spot.
But for our last Toronto show, you’d have to go all the way back to October of 2019 at a place called Dakota’s Sports Bar & Grill. The venue has since change names/owners(?) and is now called Jj’s Bar and Lounge. So it’s been 5 years since we last played in Toronto!
So how did it go?
Amazingly!
It was a new venue for us in uptown Toronto called Smokeshow BBQ & Brew. Cool venue! Great stage, sound system, lighting, and dance floor. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was delicious!
The house was packed and it was great to see a lot of old friendly faces. Folks who haven’t seen us perform in years were there to show us some love and support. We can’t thank them enough!
Not gonna lie, I was a little shaky the first few songs, but then we settled in for the rest of the night and it was like the before times! Here is the crowd singing and dancing along with us to Mr. Brightside by The Killers:
Shout-out to staff and ownership at Smokeshow for inviting us out to play and treating us so well!
Shout-out to our buddy Mat Murray for helping us out with the sound last night.
Shout-out to the amazing crowd who sang and danced the night away with us. Some came from quite the distance to be there. You guys made it a special night!
Next up…we’re headed out to Seagrave, Ontario to play a show at Two Blokes Cider. Another first-time venue for us. We can’t wait!
