Last night the 35th Annual Juno Awards were held in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
For those of you who aren’t Canadian or fans of Canadian music, the Junos are our version of the Grammys and it was a start-studded event hosted by Canadian bombshell Pamela Anderson.
I didn’t watch this years show since I was elbow-deep in a round of Texas hold’em—and I was actually winning! What I’ve heard and read about the event has been mostly positive. Pamela started out the evening—predictably—with a little public service announcement for her cause,
“I don’t mind a little blood on the ice when it’s a hockey rink, but I hate seeing blood on the ice when it’s from baby seals,”
Mostly the night stayed on focus, and that focus was the live performances and the doling out of hardware to the best Canadian musical talent.
The big winner of the evening was Canadian Crooner Michael Bublé, who took home 4 statuettes.
While the evening seemed to be a big success, this gave me an idea on how the show could have been improved. They should have invited Dave Letterman to co-host with Pamela. Imagine the introduction he could make with between his co-hostess and the big winner of the evening,
“Bublé, Boobies… Boobies, Bublé,”
