Humble Beginnings

It all started with a house party at our buddy Matt’s house. Back then, it was Brooke G and me (Al Grego) on vocals, with me playing a little guitar, Adrian Graham on bass and Jeff Cox on drums.

It was casual. It was fun. And, most importantly, it worked.

As we continued playing together, that little house-party project gradually developed into a real live band called The Week Ends.

Over time, the lineup evolved, the song list grew and so did the kinds of shows we played. But the basic idea behind The Week Ends remained remarkably simple:

Play great songs people know and make sure everyone has a good time.

Our setlists grew to include pop and rock favourites spanning multiple decades, with songs chosen because they’re catchy, familiar, upbeat and fun to perform live. If you can’t dance to one of the songs we play, you can sure as hell sing along at full volume!

Having both male and female lead vocals gives us the flexibility to cover a much wider range of artists and styles. The result is a show that can jump between decades and genres while still feeling like The Week Ends.

Today, The Week Ends perform at pubs, parties, festivals and community events throughout Toronto, the GTA, York Region, Barrie, Simcoe County and Southern Ontario.

A lot has changed since that first house party. The lineup has changed. The setlist has become much bigger. The stages have gotten bigger too. The reason we do it, though, hasn’t really changed.

We love playing live music for people who want to have a good time.

That’s how The Week Ends began, and it’s still what we’re about today.
